Do you want lashes that last? You do, of course! It is important to learn how to care for eyelash extensions.

It may take some time to get used to the following eyelash extension care commands. It will become easy once you get used to your lash-loving routine. Let’s get into the how-tos for lash extensions.

Do Keep Extensions Clean

This is a simple one, but it would surprise you to see how many people fail to realize this.

Clean eyelashes are an important step to take care of your eyelash extensions. Here’s how:

  1. Take off your makeup and wash your hair with an oil-free liquid make-up remover.
  2. Use a moist cotton pad to clean the extensions. Dry pads could cause lash damage.
  3. You might consider using a lash brush. This handy tool can be used to remove excess dirt and oils (more later).

Do Not Use Oils in Your Routine for Your Face

Excessive oils can decrease the life expectancy of your lashes. Oils can cause a breakdown of the lash glue which holds your long lashes in place. Don’t let your lashes fall out!

Oils can be found in common products such as eye creams, lotions, and skincare serums. Before you apply new products, make sure to choose water- or gel-based products.

Do Schedule Lash Refills

Eyelash extensions require that you pay attention to your lashes’ needs. It is harder to maintain a full lash volume if you wait too long. Regular refills with your lash technician are a great way to keep your eyelash extensions full and healthy. Although it may sound like a money drain, this can actually help you save money.

Do Not Soak Your Lashes

Excessive moisture can cause the glue to deteriorate, just like excess oil. Although your lashes will not fall out in the shower or droop after a light rain, water can have an adverse effect on the overall appearance of your lashes. Avoid excess moisture. This is not the time to go on sauna trips or indulge in facial steam treatments.
